Luva announced for LoveLove Tenshi

I can't link to the LoveLove Tenshi site lest I be screened, but Luva Wu'er Kaixi ("ウルカイシ" - check from the judges?) is a (very young-looking) 29-year-old archaeology professor from China (Shanghai, to be exact).

OK, now: this version of Luva seems to take his name from Wu'erkaixi (look it up on Wikipedia; again, I can't post any freaking links), a human rights activist who got his start in the Tienanmen protests as a student leader and who's now on the run from Chinese authorities (or at least can't go back to China, lest he be arrested for his role in Tienanmen). The real Wu'erkaixi is a member of the Uyghur, a group of ethnic Turkish living in Eastern Asia whose dress is kind-of-but-not-really-but-close-enough to traditional Luva's. So: is Professor Luva meant to be Uyghur as well? And isn't this all rather odd material for an otome game? Is Professor Luva going to need the assistance of Oscar Rockwell soon? Is this how all the LoveLove Angels get together - to save Luva from torture and life imprisonment in a Chinese prison?

Also, is it me, or are they just announcing characters for this thing and don't have an actual game?

I'm hoping the torture and imprisonment in a Chinese prison doesn't come into it...

But, I am still hoping very much for Lumiale's appearance in the game as well. (I wonder where he will be from...)

After Luva's deplorable conditions of imprisonment are discovered by U.N. observer Dr. Francis Walton, his case is referred to Oscar Rockwell. Even the FAIYAs of pro bono justice can't shake the Politburo, though, and so Oscar must spearhead a battery of hot defense attorneys to take his case to the next level. Arios writes a song to raise money for his defense after an impassioned plea from Luva's student (and Arios superfan) Mel (proceeds managed by Ernst), but when legal action fails, more drastic means must be employed. After a fleet-footed distraction from track star Heuye, Randy scales the prison walls to break him out, and after lying low on Marcel's farm for a bit, he makes a permanent escape on Zephel's prototype craft and becomes one of the first human colonists of Mars.

Julious Cœur de Lion will be a Grail Knight currently residing in Petra, Jordan. He will appear in a flashback informing Luva that he "chose...poorly" and then go on to detail how this poor choice could have been avoided with due diligence to one's work and study etc. etc.

Oh no! I can see more than Luva's bangs! He's gonna get in trouble with his people if they find out. Well, I'm sure if he unveiled his luscious locks to me (a male) as proof of his decision to spend his life with me, that would be a whole OTHER mess of drama with his people. Hahaha

And, yes, I feel like all they're doing is stalling with these ridiculous character profiles. The game itself will probably suck (not than anyone outside of Japan would know). It's a social media game; it can't be THAT expansive. And that's the whole point of it being a social media app: it can be updated at ANY time. You'd think they'd have already released this 1st or 2nd quarter in 2011.

Funny you should mention that, as I just noticed that the drama CD that was supposed to be released yesterday was removed from Amazon Japan and CD Japan. (It's still listed on Play-Asia, with a "2-4 week wait.") They made a big thing about the game itself being rescheduled for Fall 2011, and yet that deadline itself is quickly passing with no new info on anything but the characters. I have to wonder at this point if cancellation isn't far off.

That doesn't surprise me. I mean, they haven't even released a single sample voice on the website, and they've had a long time to do that. I can understand a few not having voices, but even the first announced like Arios, Oscar, and Francis should at least have something.

Speaking of, do you know if they're being voiced by new people, or are they trying to keep our same, beloved seiyuu that have been around all this time?
