Julious's Young Memories Pt. 1 translation
Here we go. Not much to say except that the artist does seem to have a proclivity for obnoxious characters (Shion, you're dealing with a five-year-old, come on).
Also, that is a creeper moustache.

Shion, how can you expect a child to do childish things? This is Julious - I wouldn't be surprised if they were training him from the moment he was born to be a Guardian.
Also, that is a creeper 'stache. No wonder Julious had no relationship with his father. I would be uncomfortable to be in the same room as that thing.

That was the killer line of the manga.
but they really weren't the ones raising him.
Based on what we see on them, both of Julious's parents are obviously self-impressed people, so this almost definitely isn't the case, but it did cross my mind that maybe they were putting a distance between themselves and their kid because they knew they were going to lose him. Like I said, there's nothing in the manga to indicate this (they have no ambivalence about sending him off, say), and the "lose him" might not even be true in a permanent sense, as we don't know how time flows on Julious's planet relative to the Sanctuary - time might be 1:1 between the two places, and Julious might just be able to come in and take over as head of his house when his powers fade, the same amount of time having passed in both both places. (Wait, does Julious live on the main planet? Because I believe that would mean there indeed is no Sanctuary/planetary time-flow difference in this case. Aagh, I can't keep track.) What I'm trying to say here is that Angelique tends to minimize what really is a horrible situation with the Guardians being taken away from their homes, sometimes at very young ages, then cast out of the Sanctuary and returned when all they know is usually long-gone (see the previous Guardian of Steel who has an understandable freak-out in response to his powers fading that is written off as the product of an unstable mind), and this might have been an opportunity to explore that side of becoming a Guardian, and how parents might feel if they knew this would happen to their child. It's one they didn't take, at least not overtly.

It's more like how he's being condescending to Julious when he's trying to coax him not to be so rigid. He can see from the kid's demeanor that there're obviously deep-seated issues there - plus, well, he's five - so he should know that the kid's abnormal demeanor isn't his fault.
