LLT interview 7 1/2: Masaki Sakuragawa seiyuu Kenji Fukuda interview

I'm afraid other maters are still on my plate, but here's a bonus from Mel's interview: a little Q&A with Masaki Sakuragawa's voice actor, Kenji Fukuda.  He's a little bit of a wiseguy.

- Could you share with us your thoughts post-recording?

Until now, I've done mostly dubbing for movies and dramas, so this is vivid in my mind as a unique experience.

- How did you feel when you learned you'd gotten a part in the Angelique series?

Thrilled! I was surprised; I thought, "no way it's going to be me." I'm thrilled with any opportunity to meet other seiyuu. I guess I was a little nervous, with nothing but distinguished actors...but Oscar's actor, Ken'yu Horiuchi, was always so nice to me, and that was reassuring.

- Could you tell us about the appeal of your character, Masaki Sakuragawa?

He's always so together and so perfect. And I think his job as a personal secretary is awesome.

- Are there any lines or scenes that made an impression on you during our performance?

- It was difficult doing all the formal speech you usually don't normally use due to of his background as a secretary. On the other hand, I thought it was an opportunity, so I did the performance, and there were some fun, happy scenes, too. It was my first time at everythng, so every scene made a strong impression on me.

- If you had a personal secretary like Sakuragawa, what kind of stuff would you want him to do?

Things I'd particularly want him to do...I don't think anything, really! I like making meals and running the vacuum cleaner, but I'm no good at running the washer and doing laundry, so I'd want him to do that. ...But that's a maid, not a personal secretary (laughs). But since Sakuragawa is a guy like me, maybe he has the same problems (laughs).

- At our tea parties, you can enjoy tasty sweets and tea and hobnob with celebrities. What kind of tea party sweet would you like best, Fukuda-san?

I don't myself really go to the cake shop and buy stuff much, but I eat candy a lot, so I think I'd have that. I'd have some chocolate, then maybe a bagel or muffin with my coffee. I take my coffee black, so it'd be good to have a candy that goes with that.

- Do you have a message for our readers?

Since you can play LoveLove Tenshi Angelique at any time, you can enjoy it anytime - on the train, before you go to sleep... Play it till your cellphone battery dies! Hope you enjoy it!
